In 2002, as Mr. Manish Karnani took over leadership, Multichem underwent a significant rebranding to reflect its growth and modernization. Born in Sangaria, Rajasthan, Mr. Shiv Dayal Karnani was raised by parents who instilled in him strong values and provided him with a solid upbringing. After completing his early education, he pursued higher studies in Ganganagar, Rajasthan. In 1963, at the age of 21, with the encouragement of his family, he moved to Kolkata (then Calcutta) to begin his career as an accountant in a chemical trading company. Guided by an entrepreneurial spirit and supported by his brothers, he soon established his own chemical trading business, which quickly expanded across cities. The family eventually settled in Mumbai, India’s financial hub, where they laid the foundation of Multichem.
We remain forever grateful to Mr. Shiv Dayal Karnani and his brothers for their vision, and to his parents for their unwavering support and guidance. In 1994, our current MD and CEO, Manish Karnani, joined the business, and in 2003, he expanded it into import distribution, continuing the family’s legacy.
